How much better can it get? Two of the awesomest people on the planet: Stephen Colbert interviews Neil deGrasse Tyson at the Kimberley Academy in Montclair, New Jersey.

They talk about science, society and the universe; all jaw-droppingly framed within their characteristic sense of humour. Perhaps you are put off by the length of the interview? (it’s 80 mins*) Let me tell you something. You will learn so much from this WHILE actually laughing out loud, that this is probably gonna make your day. Seriously. You don’t need to be a nerd or a science geek. You just need to be curious.

*Skip to 6:15 for the start of the interview.

I don’t care that this is not music. It is so mind-blowing that it is music to my brain. And Neil’s voice is music to my ears anyway! He is so incredibly well-spoken and with that velvety timbre.. He has such passion and such intelligence that it’s overwhelming. I was laughing, gasping; I had my mouth open so many times throughout the whole thing. I hope everyone on the planet makes time to watch this.

Video of The CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA’s “TO BUILD A HOME” featuring PATRICK WATSON Live @ The Barbican in London, 2007. As heard on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.

I heard this song on a fascinating video of TIME Magazine’s “10 Questions for Neil Degrasse Tyson”. A reader asked the astrophysicist what was the most astounding fact about the universe? You can find the answer here, and when you do, look up to the sky. You’ll know why.
